Current situation/ threat to our community - Coming 2011 census

Dear Devendrars,

Yesterday we (DYWA) met in Kodambakkam. More than 30 members participated. We discussed about the current situation/ threat to our community. That is coming 2011 census.

One of our devendrar asked the Govt., through RTI act that the total count of Devendrars in TN. He got the reply as only 21 lakhs of devendrars are there in TN. Because some of our devendrars converted to Christian and Muslims. So, we lost their count.

We are in the situation to aware our devendrars before this census that each and every devendrar should register their name and family members as Devendrar not as Adidiravidar. NOt only that, we should verify whether the census people register the same in the application they bring.

The team includes mostly youths planned to move around the south tamil nadu around 2 weeks to give the awareness of census and its importance to our devendrars.

We should do this before this year end or before starting the census. Also we should make our TN government to look at our people and it should accept our application as All the subcastes of Devendrars called as Devendra Kula Velalar.

Also we heard that in the census form, there is no option like Devendra kula velalar, it has only option as Adidiravidar.

If we miss this census,we wont get the rights in future. Also no party will accept us.

Also we discussed the release of CD of documentary film about Thiyagi Immanuvel Sekaran. The team planned start from 30th November. Before that, DYWA will decide the release date and place. The team will personally invite each and every devendrars in TN for the CD release function as well as DYWA anniversary function.

Dear Devendrars,

Please share your comments/ideas on this to do better. Also we expect your support for the team coming to your place. If DYWA member near or around your village/ area, please provide support to them and work with them.

Soon DYWA youths will reach our people to regain our social status, we expect all devendra leaders and organization to extend their full support to our youths.

"Its not an Individual Effort ,Its a effort of devendra youths" .
