A Fact Finding Team comprising of civil rights activists from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh will visit Paramakkuti

A FACT FINDING TEAM IS TO VISIT RAMANATHAPURAM AND MADURAI DISTRICTS

A Fact Finding Team comprising of civil rights activists from Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh will visit Paramakkuti, Madurai and other places in Ramanathapuram and Madurai districts of Tamilnadu where seven dalits are killed in police firing on September 12. Though prohibitory order under section 144 is promulgated in this area, the Madras High Court Madurai bench has issued an order today to the Ramanathapuram district collector to consider favourably our letter seeking permission to visit the places.

The team will visit the places on 18th & 19th Sept. And will meet the relatives of the victims as well the district officials. The Fact Finding Team’s report will be released to the press 20th Sept. at Madurai on 20th Sept.
